This is a vanilla and chocolate , suitcase cake. It was a cake that I used in a competition last week. It is meant to resemble a old leather suitcase with stickers on it from around the world that have phrases in different languages on them for example 'Viva la France' which translates to 'Long Live France'.
I used fondant of the outside of the cake and multiple baking tools to give the effect of a leather , battered suitcase. Fondant and Cake pens were used to make the stickers that are stuck around the cake. The extra fun accessories - the rose , the cupcake and the mini champaign - were made out of lots of different things.
The Rose was made of red fondant , the cupcake was a sugar decoration and the mini champaign bottle was a 'Dr.Oetker celebration candle'. This is probably one of my most elegant and realistic cakes that I have done and I'm very proud of it.
This would go into the 'Small Special Cake' category and would cost around £30+ . If you're curious about prices, you can go to the prices page of my website and it should answer any questions. Now please go ahead and look at some of my other masterpieces and see if you would like one of your own.
