This is a lemon and vanilla cake based on the Shakespeare quote 'if music be the food of love , play on'.
It was made for a old couple who were hosting a music themed dinner party.The couple requested a lemon or vanilla cake with a music theme so thats what i gave them.
This cake had 2 layers of vanilla cake with lemon buttercream in between and around the edges. The cake is covered in fondant - it has a shortened version of the quote on top , a piano-like pattern on the sides and an elegant trim round the edge.
